About me

I have worked in the area of environmental crafts and conservation for over 15 years now. Having first completed a BA Art therapy degree, I went on to study conservation and environmental crafts.

Following my studies I worked with adults with mental health issues for approximately seven years teaching environmental crafts like woodland crafts, hedge laying, wildlife habitat creation and the construction and care of a tree nursery.

This lead me to teach in schools, environmental groups and places of further education, where I organised and ran woodland craft workshops to a wide variety of groups of all ages, abilities and walks of life.

Over this period I gained a wide variety of commissions from schools, conservation groups and community groups.

I was a self employed woodland crafts trainer at the Derbyshire Eco Centre for over 8 years.

A center promoting and teaching traditional rural crafts and skills, one of England’s leaders in this area of community education.

I also taught conservation to young adults at a local college, “Leek college of further education”.

I planned and ran woodland craft workshops for a Derbyshire based charity called “Rural Educational Arts Program” for 4 years in which I managed a small area of Ash woodland owned by Chatsworth Estate, belonging to the Duke of Devonshire.

Thanks once again and looking forward to the Dry stone walling.

 Kind regards
